Expert hails Levy as Sky reveal full details on Tottenham’s Richarlison deal
Tottenham have moved closer to ending their silverware drought following the signing of Richarlison.
That’s according to former Aston Villa and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ latest signing.
Tottenham confirmed the signing of Richarlison, 25, on Friday morning (1 July) and the forward became the club’s fourth arrival of the summer.
Sky Sports report Spurs have paid £50million upfront with a further £10million in add-ons agreed.
The Brazilian joins Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura as another attacking option available to Antonio Conte.
McLeish admits the Brazilian is a “fantastic” signing for Spurs and claims an end to the club’s trophy drought is getting closer.
“It’s great that Conte has come along and changed the perception of Tottenham again,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“His signings have been great. Richarlison, on paper, looks a fantastic signing. You just imagine a threesome up there with him, Kane and someone else on the other side.
“It’s exciting times for Tottenham. It’s been a long time since Daniel [Levy] splashed out money like that.
“A bit of silverware would be a godsend for Tottenham fans and this is another signing that gets them closer to that.”

Richarlison scored 10 goals in 30 Premier League appearances during the 2021-22 campaign.
Those strikes took his total haul for Everton to 53 goals in 152 games.
