Expert: ‘Incredible’ Lucas Moura latest is ‘huge’ for Tottenham

Lucas Moura’s timely return to fitness is “huge” for Tottenham as a busy schedule looms.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Moura, 30, made his return from injury against Frankfurt on Wednesday (12 October), playing four minutes at the end of the game.

The Brazilian had only played 12 minutes of football this season and had not featured since 14 August before his Champions League return.

Wenham, who was in attendance against Frankfurt, was delighted to see the winger return.

“Another real positive, for me, was the reintroduction of Lucas Moura from the bench,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I just feel that having him as an option with so many games coming up is huge because he is someone who can actually come on and contribute.

“For all the stick Lucas gets, he is reliable and he has this incredible ability to change a game if he is in the mood when he comes on.

“Squad depth is key in this game and too many times this season we have brought players off the bench and they haven’t done anything.

“Lucas will perform when given the opportunity so when he manages to play more than a few minutes and he is back to full fitness we will have a really good option there.”

Tottenham are next in action against Man United on Wednesday (19 October).

They then welcome Newcastle United to N17 the following weekend (23 October).
