Expert issues ‘incredible’ verdict after hearing Tottenham insider’s Christian Eriksen claim

It is “unlikely” that Christian Eriksen will make an “incredible ” return to Tottenham this summer.

That’s according to former Leeds United defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Denmark international’s future.

Eriksen, 30, made his return to international football last Saturday (26 March) as Denmark were beaten 4-2 by the Netherlands.

He scored with his first touch and followed that up by scoring another against Serbia three days later.

On 29 March, Football Insider pundit at Tottenham insider John Wenham claimed any deal for Eriksen would be “easy” to pull off and would “instantly improve” Spurs’ squad.

However, Mills insists the move won’t happen.

“I think a return to Tottenham is unlikely,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He never got much game time under Conte at Inter Milan.

“There will always be something in the back of your mind about whether he can handle the way Conte plays.

“Emotional decisions and sport don’t always go together. We all want passion but sometimes you need to take emotion out of sport.

“If he signed, it would be an incredible moment. What he’s come back from, it’s almost a miracle.

“What he’s been able to achieve is incredible but there aren’t too many fairytales in sport and I don’t think this will be one.”
