Expert issues ‘incredible’ Will Lankshear claim after what he saw at Tottenham this week

Will Lankshear is proof that the Tottenham academy is still producing nonstop talent.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Lankshear signed for Tottenham from Sheffield United on 31 August, signing a deal until 2025.

The striker made his Spurs Under 18s debut on 8 October, scoring twice off the bench as his new side drew 3-3 with Wolves.

He was called up and made an appearance for the senior squad as Tottenham drew 0-0 with Nice in a friendly on Wednesday (21 November).

Wenham can’t believe how quickly Lankshear has progressed.

“He came on with a few minutes to go but what an achievement for him,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He only joined a few months ago and he has made really rapid progress. It’s an important moment for him, coming on at the stadium for the first team, even if it was only a friendly.

“Our academy is producing nonstop talent at the moment. There is an opportunity for these players to go really far in the game.

“Lankshear’s appearance the other night proved that. He was suspended from the youth side that played that night so how much of a role that played in him making an appearance for the first team.

“Either way, it’s an incredible achievement.”
