Expert issues ‘massive’ Liverpool claim after journalist’s Elliott update
Kevin Campbell is thrilled to hear Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliott is set to return to training.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said it would be “a massive plus” if the 18-year-old can return to first-team duties within a month.
Elliott has been sidelined with an ankle injury since a 3-0 win at Leeds United in mid-September.

The Athletic‘s James Pearce has claimed (3 January) the attacking midfielder has recovered from injury and is close to a return to team training.
Liverpool’s squad is currently depleted because of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita’s involvement in the African Cup of Nations.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for an approximate timeline on Elliott’s return to first team football, Campbell said:
“First of all, it’s great bit of news for Jurgen Klopp.
“Elliott is young, fit and heals very quickly so I don’t think it will be too long until we see him again.
“Putting a timeline on a young man like that might not be the smartest move but it won’t be long, I’m sure.

“You have to be very careful with an ankle and his looked a nasty one.
“If he can come back within the next month and be involved in the first team, that would be a massive plus for Liverpool. I think we’ll see him in the Under-23s first though.”
In other news, a pundit has predicted Liverpool could soon face a difficult transfer decision over a 23-year-old Virgil van Dijk loves.
