Expert issues ‘terrible’ Lucas Digne claim as Aston Villa ‘video footage’ analysed
Lucas Digne’s injury at Aston Villa could be “terrible” news if he has damaged the same area of the collarbone that he has previously injured.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
Digne lasted just 10 minutes in the Premier League match against Leeds United last week before Unai Emery was forced to replace him with new signing Alex Moreno.

The Frenchman fell awkwardly in possession and was holding his shoulder in pain as he exited the pitch.
He was absent from Villa’s 1-0 win over Southampton on Saturday (21 January), with Moreno performing well on his first Premier League start.
Dinnery is worried that Digne could spend a long time on the sidelines if he has injured the same part of the collarbone that was damaged last season.
“The major concern for me when I saw the video footage, was that it looked as if it affected that collarbone again,” Dinnery told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“That would be the same collarbone on the right-hand side that he struggled with last season.
“He did return well ahead of schedule on that initial problem, but another injury in that area is terrible news for Digne.
“So we await further news, but what will help Emery is the arrival of Alex Moreno.

“But it didn’t look great.
“Digne has been unfortunate during his time at Villa with several setbacks and hopefully he doesn’t spend too long on the sidelines.”
