Expert: Japhet Tanganga’s permanent Tottenham move to be confirmed ‘soon’ after update

Japhet Tanganga could leave Tottenham on loan “soon” after an update on talks with AC MIlan.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

According to Italian outlet Milan News (20 July), AC Milan are racing Celtic, Bournemouth and Monaco for Tanganga – who wishes to leave Tottenham for first-team football this summer.

On Sunday (24 July), Mail Online reported the versatile defender is “close” to joining the Italian giants and the deal will include an obligation to buy.

Wenham claims Tanganga could be the first of several Spurs stars to leave the club over the coming weeks.

“Well, Tanganga travelled up to Glasgow to be in that squad for the Rangers game,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There is a lot of pie in the sky talk but because of the way Fabio Paratici operates, we are going to hear loads of names.

“He has spider web-style meetings where everything is on the table. There are probably 20 or 30 names mentioned between both clubs.

“I’m not too worried about it. I think we will see some outgoings soon. I know people are a bit worried about the outgoings.

“Clubs will move for their top targets first and then when those deals don’t come off they will move down their lists.

“So we now might see moves for the likes of Winks and Lo Celso as well, now the transfer window has about a month to go before it shuts.”

Tanganga was ruled out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season in mid-March after undergoing surgery on his right knee.

This came after he made 11 appearances under Antonio Conte, following his arrival at the club in November.
