Expert lambasts six Tottenham stars amid ‘unbelievable’ Yves Bissouma claim

Yves Bissouma may yet become an “unbelievable” Tottenham player after an “underwhelming” start to life in N17.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Antonio Conte dropped Bissouma for his side’s Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday (26 October) and he remained an unused substitute.

Sources told Football Insider on 6 October that tactical reasons are behind Bissouma’s lack of involvement since his summer move from Brighton.

Wenham has admitted he has been underwhelmed by all six summer signings in the early stages of their Spurs careers.

“Underwhelming, like all six of our summer signings so far,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“If I am totally honest, he has been underwhelming. This is a guy who, for me, was maybe the best midfielder outside of the top six, other than Declan Rice.

“He has been that for maybe three seasons. I have seen him have some unbelievable games for Brighton against us and for whatever reason he has not settled yet.

“He hasn’t had a consistent run of five or ten games so it is difficult for him to settle. I think he can become a good signing for Tottenham but I can only judge on what I have seen and so far he has been underwhelming.”

Tottenham

Spurs signed Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, Richarlison and Djed Spence as well as Bissouma in the summer of 2022.

Tottenham are next in action against Bournemouth on Saturday (29 October).
