Expert lambasts Tottenham official after clash – ‘he took someone out’

Frankfurt should have received three red cards during their Champions League clash against Tottenham.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham beat Frankfurt 3-2 on Wednesday (12 October) as they moved to the top of their Champions League group.

Frankfurt went down to ten men in the second half as Tuta was given his marching orders.

However, Wenham claims there should have been two more dismissals.

“I actually think Frankfurt should have gone down to nine men,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There was an incident with Hasebe, he took somebody out while already on a yellow card. Then he feigned injury for two or three minutes and hobbled off to the side when he should have received a second yellow.

“Make no mistake about it, he took someone out. They were quite lucky actually. I think the ref felt a bit sorry for them, to send someone else off so soon after the first one.

“But those are the rules so he should have been dismissed. There was also the third goal and the penalty where someone should have been dismissed.

“Gil was through one on one with the keeper and was then hacked down, Last man, red card.
