Expert moots Whatsapp ‘talks’ between Christian Eriksen and Tottenham stars after update

It is unlikely that any transfer talks were held between Tottenham and Christian Eriksen this weekend.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Eriksen, 30, started against his former side as they drew with Brentford on Saturday (23 April).

A recruitment source told Football Insider (17 April) that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the attacker ahead of a potential free transfer this summer.

It is believed that the Denmark international would be keen on a return to the club where he spent seven years.

Wenham claims any possible transfer won’t have been discussed before or after the game.

“It was an emotional one for sure,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You saw how the Tottenham fans reacted to him when he was taking corners in the far end of the ground.

“He has some amazing memories for us. He showed again why signing him this summer would be a no brainer.

“He had a really good game. Did the players have a word with him? Listen, there are a lot of things going on with these players.

“They all have Whatsapp groups so it’s not like they won’t have been talking to each other anyway.

“All the talking behind their hands to stop people seeing what they are saying, that’s not when those conversations happen.

“Kane and Eriksen have gone away on holiday before, these players see each other other than on game days.

“So I’m not sure there will have been any talks yesterday.”

In other news, Tottenham are plotting a move for Aston Villa starlet Travis Patterson.
