Expert shares bold West Ham claim after Gianluca Scamacca update – ‘wow’
The signing of Gianluca Scamacca will push West Ham even further up the Premier League table and into Champions League contention.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hammers’ next signing.
Mail Online reported on Monday (25 July), that Scamacca is booked in for a medical after the Hammers agreed a £30.5million fee with Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old notched 16 goals for Sassuolo last term while Jarrod Bowen finished with 18 in all competitions for the Irons.
Kenny claims the arrival of Scamacca will push the Hammers even closer to the Champions League places after finishing seventh last season.
“West Ham have been desperate for 12 months now, they have needed that striker,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Antonio needs help, he can’t do it on his own. West Ham also need to score more goals. It’s a big signing for them, wow, you don’t see them spend money like that often.
“They have done unbelievably well in the last few seasons, they have been so close to getting into the Champions League and to getting into the final of the Europa League.
“I think the missing piece is that striker. David Moyes will be looking to push West Ham further with a signing like this.
“I really think he will make the world of difference there. He sounds an exciting player so let’s hope he can hit the ground running.”

Michail Antonio is the Hammers’ only senior striker and scored 10 goals in 36 Premier League appearances during the 2021-22 season.
The 32-year-old is under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2024.
