Expert shares emphatic Calvin Ramsay verdict as Liverpool terms agreed
Aberdeen star Calvin Ramsay will “make it” as a Premier League star as his move to Liverpool nears completion.
That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s future.
As revealed by Football Insider on Wednesday (8 June) Ramsay, 18, will undergo a Liverpool medical in the coming days after agreeing terms with the club.

Liverpool have agreed a fee worth £4million including add-ons for Ramsay as they put the finishing touches to the deal.
The right-back emerged as a key player for the Dons during the 2021-22 season and has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp’s men.
McAvennie insists Ramsay has the attributes to make it at the top level.
“People say Liverpool should sign him and loan him back for a year,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I’m going to be honest, no disrespect to Aberdeen, if you go to Liverpool you will be learning from the best.
“Klopp’s training is the same with the Under 19s and sometimes you get thrown in with the first team, what a situation that is.
“You are walking in the door with Salah, Mane, Van Dijk, total pros. The coaching down south, I always found, is a lot better.
“So if he goes to Liverpool, he will be taught properly. He has to come in and think he can overtake whoever is in front of him.
“That’s what he has to think. He will get his chances in the cup games and playing at Anfield, what an experience.
“I think he is going to make it in the Premier League. Not right now, but he is one who is going to make it.”

Ramsey made 33 appearances in all competitions during the 2021-22 season, scoring once and providing nine assists.
He is under contract at Pittodrie until the summer of 2024.
