Expert shares verdict on Ange Postecoglou quitting Celtic for Leeds United after source’s update

Ange Postecoglou will not leave Celtic mid-season to join Leeds United.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops boss’ future.

On Monday (6 February) Leeds sacked Marsch with the club only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Sources told Football Insider on 7 February that Celtic are confident Postecoglou will stay at the club until the end of the season.

The Australian manager is on a one-year rolling contract at Parkhead.

McManus insists Postecoglou will not give up his job at Celtic for Leeds

“I don’t think there is any chance of him leaving right now,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“There will be a point for Ange when it is time to go but I don’t think he is at that point yet. Celtic are clearly going to win the league and they will go straight into the Champions League again.

“I think he wants to make a bigger impact in the Champions League. If they get a favourable draw and he takes them to the knockout stages then his stock will soar.

“It will go from clubs like Everton and Leeds to top six clubs. He won’t leave Celtic to go into a relegation battle in the Premier League.

“Ange is clearly a very, very talented manager. His recruitment, his man management, he has ticked every box so far at Celtic.

“I don’t see him going to Leeds. I could be wrong but I don’t see it.

Leeds are in another relegation battle, that’s not the club Ange leaves for.”
