Expert shares verdict on Tottenham now signing Jack Harrison after £30m update

Tottenham will not pursue a move for Newcastle United target Jack Harrison this summer.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On 24 July, Sky Sports reported Harrison is on Spurs’ radar this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options.

On 24 May, The Telegraph reported Newcastle United had been quoted £30million for the Leeds star who remains a target for Eddie Howe’s side.

Tottenham are set to sign Richarlison from Everton in a boost to Antonio Conte’s attacking options.

Wenham claims Spurs are fans of the player but they will not make a move to sign him this summer.

“This has popped up before, I think it first came around at the end of the January transfer window,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I think they [Spurs] like him because he is versatile. He can play left-wing, left wing-back and left-back.

“Again, Leeds would ask for big money for him. They have just sold Kalvin Phillips for big money and Raphinha looks like he is going to go so they have no real reason to sell.

“It’s not one I can see happening at the moment. We still have Lucas Moura as well and Richarlison is about to boost our options.”

Harrison bagged 10 goals in the 2021-22 Premier League season.

He joined Leeds permanently in the summer of 2021 after three loan spells at Elland Road.
