Expert slams Harry Kane and ‘not good enough’ Tottenham trio after ‘ridiculous’ development

John Wenham has slammed Tottenham over a “lack of leadership” in their first-team squad.

Spurs insider Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, reacted as his side drew 0-0 with Brentford on Saturday (23 April).

After the game, Wenham tweeted his disappointment and claimed there is leadership in the squad,

When asked to expand on this point, he singled out Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris, Heung-Min Son and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

“We have senior players who just don’t step up,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Considering we have a team full of international captains, it’s ridiculous.

“Lloris for France, Kane for England, Sonny for South Korea and Hojbjerg captains Denmark on occasion.

“Those players have failed to get us over the line against Brighton and Brentford and it’s just not good enough.

“These are the players you look up to when you need to create something.

“But there was just nothing there, Kane and Son failed to have a shot on target in both games.

“You need more from those players, it’s not good enough. I know they are our big-name players but they haven’t been good enough.”
