Expert slams ‘ridiculous’ Tottenham fans after ‘grossly unfair’ Hojbjerg criticism
Criticism aimed at Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from a “decent portion” of Tottenham fans is “grossly unfair”.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Hojbjerg, 26, has been a key player at Tottenham under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte.

The defensive midfielder has only missed one league game since arriving from Southampton in the summer of 2022.
Wenham has been left baffled by fans who have been criticising Hojbjerg’s attacking output.
“I’ve seen some ridiculous criticism come in for Hojbjerg in recent weeks,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I think that’s grossly unfair and I think it’s based purely on the fact that we are controlling games.
“That shows his limitations because he’s been asked to create things, that’s not his job.
“His job is tidying up, it largely gets unnoticed. He cleans up and puts out fires.
“The games in which to judge him are coming up this month. The game against Chelsea this week is a prime example.
“The games where high-level players are going into full-blooded challenges, that’s when to judge him.
“In games where we aren’t creating against Southampton or Watford, he’s not the man to blame.
“I saw people having a go at him for that. We spend millions on Lo Celso and Ndombele who aren’t doing that job.
“The guy never lets us down, he’s missed one league game since he joined and that was for Covid.

“He’s always available and he’s a top defensive midfielder. There is a desperate narrative to pit Hojbjerg against Oliver Skipp.
“I don’t get that, it really frustrates me because it’s a decent portion of the fanbase.”
