Expert tips Tottenham to sell star for ‘£25m’ and complete Youri Tielemans signing

Tottenham could sell Giovani Lo Celso and use the funds to sign Leicester star Youri Tielemans.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

According to The Telegraph (31 March), Leicester are willing to sanction the sale of Tielemans, 24, for just £25million this summer with his contract set to expire in 2023.

Speaking on his Here We Go podcast (19 April), transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims Spurs are “exploring the situation”.

A recruitment source told Football Insider (14 April) that Villarreal are opening talks with Spurs about signing the Lo Celso, 25, permanently.

Wenham is hoping Spurs can sell their outcast midfielder and use the funds to sign Tielemans.

“He’s a really good player, a player of great moments,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“We all remember his winner in the FA Cup final against Chelsea. He’s a winner, he has that FA Cup medal.

“I just think he is very good player. He is quite good defensively and he also chips in with goals so I am fully behind this if Tottenham pursue it.

“For £25million, that’s a bargain. If we can sell Giovani Lo Celso for £25million then that deal pays for itself.”

Spurs are understood to be open to a sale with Lo Celso’s asking price believed to be around the £30million mark.

Lo Celso has made 15 appearances since joining the Spanish side on loan in January.
