Expert: Tottenham can win Premier League this season after ‘huge’ development
Tottenham will be well in the title race if they can beat Man United at Old Trafford on Wednesday (19 October).
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham sit third in the Premier League after playing 10 games, level on points with Man City.
Arsenal remain top of the league, clear of City and Tottenham by four points.
Wenham has previously claimed that Spurs’ target this season should be to finish in the top four but he admits that expectations will have to change if Antonio Conte’s side can win at Old Trafford.
“If we win at Old Trafford it is a huge, huge statement,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“That really does set us up to realign our targets for the season. It goes from finishing in the top four to putting a serious marker down in challenging for the title.
“It would be a real statement win but if you ask me now, would I take a draw? I absolutely would.
“I think Man United have so many dangerous players and we saw last year that if Ronaldo decides to make the game all about him then he can smash a hat trick.
“They have other players who can do similar things, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho as well. Rashford has been in form this season too.
“If we go there and win then my expectations go up a notch.
“Having seen Man City lose against Liverpool, we are level on points with them after 10 games.

“We have to realign where were are because we will have played Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Man United away and still be level with Man City.
“That’s huge for us.”
