Expert: Tottenham coaches ‘blown away’ by what they’ve seen from Will Lankshear
Tottenham coaches have been “blown away” by Will Lankshear’s start to life at the club.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Lankshear, signed for Tottenham from Sheffield United on 31 August, signing a deal until 2025
The striker made his Spurs Under 18s debut on Saturday (8 October), scoring twice off the bench as his new side drew 3-3 with Wolves.
He featured again against Frankfurt on Wednesday (12 October) which Wenham was delighted to see.
“It was good to see Will Lankshear come off the bench after he got two goals on his debut,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I posted a video of the goals and you can see Jermain Defoe celebrating the goals which must be lovely to see and great for his confidence, to see a Premier League legend celebrate like that.
“He seems to have settled really well. All I am hearing about him is that the coaches are blown away by his finishing levels and his size.
“Tottenham have made a real coup in getting him from Sheffield United and beating some other top, top clubs to him as well.
“It’s a really promising start for him.”

Sky reporter Lyall Thomas reported on 26 August, that Spurs have would pay a £2million fee to Sheffield United for the 17-year-old striker.
