Expert: Tottenham could agree Christian Eriksen deal this week as offer submitted

Tottenham are “making enquiries” over signing Cristian Eriksen as Man United and Brentford make concrete offers to sign him.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

According to the BBC (11 June), Brentford are keen to keep hold of Eriksen despite the midfielder appearing on the Bees’ released list – which was announced that day.

On Tuesday (14 June) The Athletic reported Man United have made an offer to sign the 30-year-old as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his midfield options.

However, in quotes carried by that report, Eriksen has admitted he would “love” to play Champions League football again, something Spurs can offer.

Wenham insists Tottenham are “making enquiries” over re-signing the player who notched 69 goals and 90 assists in 304 games across his previous six-and-a-half-year spell at the club.

“He’s on international duty at the moment, I expect things will ramp up next week or at the close of this week,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“The players will start returning on Tuesday and Wednesday and then there is a holiday period.

“With Eriksen, Brentford have offered him a contract, as they would.

“But I’m sure Tottenham are making enquiries as well.”

Eriksen scored once and chipped in with four assists for Brentford during the 2021-22 season.

He joined the Bees in January after recovering from his collapse at Euro 2020.

In other news, one Tottenham expert is ‘really pleased’ by a behind-the-scenes development sanctioned by Fabio Paratici.
