Expert: Tottenham must move for Pedro Porro immediately after ‘mysterious’ update
Tottenham must move for Pedro Porro immediately as a late-window deal may be hard to pull off.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Portuguese outlet CM Journal (23 December) claim Tottenham are ‘determined’ to sign the former Manchester City man.
On 6 January, Fabrizio Romano reported Porro is top of Spurs’ wishlist this month with the player “keen on the move”.
Wenham wants Tottenham to move for the winger immediately if their interest in genuine.
“This talk about Pedro Porro won’t go away,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“We have been heavily linked with him again. The question for me is, where are these links actually coming from?
“Are they coming from Twitter accounts of so-called journalists who aren’t even real people? There are so many of those accounts around and I am just cautious because I haven’t seen anything too convincing.
“There are plenty of stories in Portugal but we know how reliable those papers are. So I don’t know how much is in this, to be honest, it’s all very mysterious.
“If we do want him then let’s move quickly. I don’t want to be waiting around until the last hours of the January window to get signings in again.
“As good as Bentancur and Kulusevski are, we can’t afford to wait around all month to get players in, we need them now.”
Tottenham return to league action against Arsenal on 15 January.
They sit fifth in the table as it stands, 11 points behind the Gunners.
