Expert: Tottenham player set for first start of the season v Man United after Richarlison update

Lucas Moura may start his first game of the season when Tottenham face Man United on Wednesday (19 October).

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Richarlison picked up a knock during his side’s 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday (15 October) and is expected to miss the next few weeks, as per the player’s Twitter account (17 October).

Moura and Dejan Kulusevski are the obvious options to replace Richarlison and Wenham claims it could be Moura who is given the nod at Old Trafford.

“I can only see Conte making a few slight changes,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Maybe we will see Lenglet come in for Davies, something like that. We will see Perisic come in for Sessegnon, I think that will be it in terms of rotation.

“Obviously Richarlison is injured so Conte has a big decision to make there. Kulusevski is back but is he fully fit? Do you throw him straight in or do you start Lucas Moura?

“Then again, do you go for the 3-5-2 that, as fans, we really enjoyed seeing against Brighton a few weeks ago? He has options and that is the important thing.

“It is going to be hard for Man United to predict what we are going to do on Wednesday night but I have total faith Conte will pick a system that will cause them plenty of problems.”

Moura has made four appearances this season, all off the bench.

He is yet to register a goal or assist.
