Expert: Unai Emery will make Tottenham outcast his first Aston Villa signing as £15m deal mooted

Tottenham could finally sell Giovani Lo Celso to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in a deal worth £15million.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Lo Celso, 26, is currently on loan at Villarreal, who were until Tuesday (25 October) managed by new Aston Villa boss Emery.

The midfielder made 11 appearances under his former manager this season, starting the first seven league games of the campaign before picking up an injury.

Lo Celso also spent the second half of last season on loan at the Spanish side.

Wenham now claims Emery could make Lo Celso his first signing at Villa.

“One interesting one, Tottenham have the option to bring Lo Celso back in January,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, could we see Emery say, ‘you know what, Lo Celso has played in the Premier League before, I know him well from two loans at Villarreal, get Tottenham on the phone’.

“Aston Villa could get Tottenham to recall him then they could sign him for around £15million. That would be a deal that would suit all parties and something I could see happening.

“Tottenham would take that all day.”

Lo Celso has made 84 senior appearances for Spurs since joining the club from Real Betis.

Tottenham are next in action against Bournemouth on Saturday (29 October).
