Expert ‘very excited’ by Tottenham Under-21s after ‘absolutely outstanding’ development

Tottenham fans should be “very excited” about their Under 21 players after the side picked up a rare win.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham’s Under-21s won their first league game of the season by beating Liverpool’s Under-21s 2-0 on 8 January.

Jamie Donley and Malachai Fagan-Walcott scored the goals that downed the third-placed Reds.

Wenham was left delighted with the win and hopes the Under-21s can now go on a run.

“I was very, very excited by this result,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“At the start of the year, the team was strong but we weren’t getting the results. I just hope this can be a turning point now because we have a few games in quick succession now.

“Liverpool were third going into this game and they had Jurgen Klopp watching on as well. Tottenham delivered an absolutely outstanding away performance.

“It’s not our issue that Calvin Ramsay got sent off. We took full advantage and got the job done. I’m really pleased.

“Malachai-Walcott was outstanding at the back and got his goal which was fantastic. Devine and White were excellent.

“Jamie Donley got his first Under-21s goal too, I hope he can now go on a bit of a run. Our Under-18s just smashed Vila 3-0 as well so things are looking up after a dreadful start to the season.”
