Eye-catching Tammy Abraham stats prove exactly why Aston Villa striker must start vs Wolves
Unai Emery has to start Tammy Abraham in Aston Villa’s upcoming clash against Wolves.
The two West Midlands sides meet on Friday, with the Birmingham outfit aiming to finally end their terrible record at Molineux.
A victory is expected for Villa, with Wolves all but relegated from the Premier League, sitting on just 10 points.
However, the Old Gold side have often caused problems for Villa, and were close to picking up a result earlier in the campaign, as Emery’s side earned a narrow 1-0 victory.
As a result, starting Abraham would surely ensure a victory, with the striker proving to be consistently deadly against Wolves.

Tammy Abraham has a fabulous record against Wolves
Ever since his Championship days, Abraham has been a thorn in Wolves’ side.
The striker found the net with ease against the Old Gold side when he was at Bristol City, netting three times in two appearances.
Upon becoming a first-teamer for Chelsea, his ability was on show again, as he netted a hat-trick in a 5-2 victory back in the 2019-20 campaign.
Now, according to BBC Sport on 25 February, Abraham has scored more goals against Wolves than any other opponent in the English Football League.
This, combined with the fact that the 28-year-old striker is already on form after he netted against Leeds United on the weekend, should make him a guaranteed starter on Friday.
If this becomes a reality, it will surely mean that the three points are Villa’s, as they look to pile more misery on Wolves.
Aston Villa’s record vs Wolves explained
Aston Villa’s record against Wolves in recent years has certainly been hit and miss.
While the Birmingham outfit have won three of their last four meetings, they were winless in their last five before this run.
At Molineux, their record is even worse, with Wolves winning six of their last eight matches at their home stadium, with Villa just winning once.
Therefore, Emery will be aiming to put an end to this dire record on Friday and further cement themselves in the top four of the Premier League.
However, it remains to be seen if Abraham will have a big part to play in the tie, or if Emery will once again look to utilise him off the bench.
