Rangers fans slam Caixinha for decision before clash v Partick

By James Black

Pedro Caixinha made one change to his side to face Partick Thistle but Rangers fans thought there should have been more – with most supporters wanting Kenny Miller axed.

The Light Blues announced on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off that the veteran forward was poised to start the game.

Josh Windass replaced the injured Niko Kranjcar in the starting XI for the trip to Partick Thistle where the Gers managed to rescue a point in the second half thanks to Graham Dorrans’ goal.

Alfredo Morelos scored in the first half, but two goals in the second half from Partick meant the Gers had to settle for a 2-2 draw against 10 men.

Miller partnered Morelos – who scored seven times in five games before the game – with Mexican striker Eduardo Herrera on the bench.

Despite having been a talisman for his side in recent years, fans slammed Caixinha’s decision to start Miller in favour of Mexican striker Herrera and voiced their displeasure on Twitter.

Here are some of their comments:

Rangers missed the chance to go top of the Scottish Premiership table due to their inability to see off a Partick side that was reduced to 10 men in the second half when goal scorer Chris Erskine was shown a red card just minutes after he put his side 2-1 up.

Dorrans scored a 77th minute belter to get his third goal of the campaign and earn his side a point.
