Farhad Moshiri ‘to take control of Everton transfers’ in late January spree – pundit

Farhad Moshiri could take control of transfers at Everton in the final days of the January window.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s January plans.

Everton are yet to make a senior signing this month with the club firmly in a relegation battle.

As per Fabrizio Romano (21 January), Arnaut Danjuma will become the club’s first signing of the window when the formalities of his loan move are complete.

Everton have lost £373m in the last three years and have only narrowly escaped punishment under the current terms of FFP.

McManus claims transfer may be taken out of Lampard’s hands.

“Maybe the owner will get involved, he could take control, with a huge spree,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“We saw last year, Nathan Patterson came in, it was a Benitez signing. Then Rafa was gone a few days later. So you maybe put it down as a club signing.

“Could that happen again? Lampard might not have a choice. If the recruitment team sees someone they like then maybe that’s how it works at Everton.

“You have to question any club that operates like that but Everton are a special case, as well all know. They have to bring in a couple more players, for me.

“Just to freshen the place up if nothing else. Fresh blood works wonders in a relegation scrap.”

Everton also signed Vitalii Mykolenko last January.

He remains the first-choice left-back at the club.
