Farhad Moshiri opens new Everton takeover talks – Kieran Maguire

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is now exploring alternative bidders for a takeover after 777 Partners failed to provide sufficient evidence to complete a deal.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Moshiri was left with “no choice” other than to explore other takeover options.

777 Partners agreed a £500million deal to buy Moshiri’s majority stake in Everton back in September 2023, but the US group have so far failed to get approval from the Premier League.

As revealed by Football Insider, Moshiri pulled the plug on a potential takeover deal with 777 Partners last week, opening it up to new bidders.

It is understood that multiple US groups are interested in an agreement and have been keeping tabs on the takeover situation.

Maguire revealed that Moshiri is now considering alternative options with the deal with 777 appearing to collapse.

It will come as no surprise to any observer that Farhad Moshiri is now considering alternative options to 777 Partners and holding talks,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.

Josh Wander and Co have had ample time to provide the Premier League with sufficient evidence of their funding but have constantly failed to deliver.

There are bills to be paid and there is the continued construction costs of Bramley Moore Dock to deal with as well.

While 777 have provided a lot of interim finance, the lack of progress in terms of the takeover means that Moshiri has had no choice other than to consider new options.
