
Filip Jorgensen jets out to USA for Chelsea medical – sources
Filip Jorgensen is set to undergo a Chelsea medical in the USA in the next few days, sources have told Football Insider.
The 22-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants as he puts the finishing touches to a £20.7million transfer from Villarreal.
Football Insider had previously revealed (July 24) that west London club had turned their attention to Jorgensen and the deal now looks set to be completed soon.
Both clubs are hashing out the final details of the payment structure with the fee said to be around £20.7m.
The Blues are looking to bolster their goalkeeping options this summer and the Danish Under-21s international is seen as competition for current number one Robert Sanchez.
Sources say that new manager Enzo Maresca wants a goalkeeper who can play out from the back and initiate attacks from deep within Chelsea’s own half.

Jorgensen has worked his way up through the Villareal youth ranks to become their first-choice goalkeeper last season.
The youngster made 37 appearances for the Spanish club last season, conceding 64 goals and keeping just six clean sheets.
