Finance guru: Tottenham will ‘resist’ change to ‘drive revenue’ ahead of Premier League meeting
Tottenham do not want to give greater dressing room access to broadcasters because they believe they can monetise the content better themselves.
That is the view of football finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about new plans which have broad support across the Premier League.
According to the Daily Mail‘s Mike Keegan (29 May), proposals which include increased presence at training grounds and in dressing rooms will be discussed at the Premier League’s summer meeting.

However, it is said that ‘Big Six’ clubs are expected to fight back against the plans.
Tottenham and Man City have both given Amazon behind-the-scenes access to their club as part of the ‘All or Nothing’ series in recent years.
When asked by Football Insider if the ‘Big Six’ are resisting change because they want to monetise their content themselves, Plumley said: “We have already seen it at Tottenham and Man City.
“If the resistance is from the top six clubs it is because they believe they can do it on their own and do it better and sell it for more money. They’d rather do it themselves than through a centralised deal.
“This will be the case with Spurs, I’m sure.
“Other clubs who haven’t got the resources to do it or the followings of the bigger clubs would back the Premier League. That would given them access to more money through a central pot.
“For the big six this is about monetising content themselves and driving revenue that way.”
