Paris Saint-Germain are confident of signing Serge Aurier from Tottenham soon after the Premier League season finishes, Football Insider has been told.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that PSG are working hard in the background on luring Aurier and went as far as to say the deal is "95 per cent done".

The Ivory Coast international has been offered a lucrative long-term contract by the French giants and a return to Paris is edging closer.

Tottenham have given the green light to Aurier leaving regardless of the views of the soon-to-be-appointed new manager.

The defender is out of contract in the summer of 2022 and the upcoming window represents the last chance to secure a major fee.

It is expected that PSG will end up paying more than £20m in transfer fee and wages on signing Aurier for a second time.

Tottenham are in the market for a new senior right-back this summer.

Matt Doherty had been expected to replace Aurier as the first choice in that position after joining from Wolves last summer but has failed to settle.

Instead, Aurier has made 19 Premier League starts among 27 appearances in all competitions.

He had started five consecutive league matches before missing Sunday's 2-0 win over Wolves due to a groin injury.
