Danny Mills tips £7m-rated Celtic star to dazzle for rest of season

Everton full-back Jonjo Kenny's value could soar while on loan at Celtic, according to Danny Mills.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England and Manchester City right-back claimed the 23-year-old has put himself in the shop window by moving north of the border.

Kenny signed for the Hoops until the end of the season on transfer deadline day after Jeremie Frimpong moved to Bayer Leverkusen.

He has found himself behind central-defender Mason Holgate and winger Alex Iwobi in the right-back pecking order after Seamus Coleman missed a significant period of the season with an injury.

Asked whether he expected Celtic to try and secure Kenny on a permanent deal at the end of the season, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “That’s the idea of a loan, isn’t it?

“Everton want the player to develop, improve and get better. That’s either for themselves or that’s either to increase his transfer value and make more money out of the situation.

“For the player, it’s a very similar scenario. The fact that as a player you want to improve and get better.

“Going out on loan is often the best way to do that.”

Kenny was handed his Celtic debut on Tuesday night where he played the full 90 minutes in their 4-0 win over Kilmarnock.

The former England Under-21 international retained his place on Saturday and again played all of their 2-1 win over Motherwell.
