West Brom are in advanced talks to sign Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant for £16million plus add-ons, Football Insider can reveal.

The Premier League new boys are closing in on the signing of the 22-year after having two previous bids rejected by the Championship outfit.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that West Brom are confident of reaching an agreement for Grant and completing the signing next week.

Slaven Bilic wants the Londoner in his squad for their Premier League opener against Leicester City next week.

Football Insider revealed this morning that West Brom are closing in on the capture of Grant.

Bilic has made it a priority to strengthen his attack and talks have also been held over a deal for Watford's Troy Deeney.

There is a possibility that West Brom could spend big on at least two centre-forwards before the window shuts.

Grant topped the Huddersfield scoring charts with 19 goals from 43 Championship appearances last season and was integral to them avoiding relegation.

The January 2019 signing from Charlton Athletic has played 13 times in the Premier League - scoring four times - but has spent most of his career learning his trade in the lower divisions.

The former Crawley Town and Cambridge United ace has 23 goals from 57 Terriers matches after scoring 21 times for the Addicks.
