It is believed that a delay in the full-back penning new terms at Anfield is not indicative of a desire to leave, but he wants a huge new deal to commit his long-term future to the club.
As revealed by Football Insider (11 February), he is set to be offered a bumper new contract by the Reds along with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk - but his deal is set to be the "biggest".
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that everyone involved with completing the deal is confident that the 25-year-old will extend his contract.
The England international's current deal is set to expire in 2025, but he is not pushing for a move away from his boyhood club.
Alexander-Arnold is reportedly earning £180,000-a-week with the Premier League giants, but he is keen to significantly increase his salary.
He has been one of Liverpool's standout players in recent seasons and has been crucial in their huge success during the reign of Jurgen Klopp.
Across 302 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, he has won the Premier League, the Champions League and both domestic cups.
In Liverpool's 3-1 win against Burnley on Saturday (10 February), Alexander-Arnold became the defender with the most assists in Premier League history with 58 - surpassing teammate Andy Robertson.
Liverpool remained top of the Premier League after their win against the Clarets on Saturday afternoon.
They are next set to face Brentford away in the league in the early Saturday kick-off (17 February).
