Man United to accept '£40m' Marcus Rashford offer - Insider

Man United star Marcus Rashford is attracting interest from clubs both in the Premier League and abroad, according to their former chief scout.

Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at Old Trafford during the club's most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that a deal could be reached at around £40million in the January window.

This comes following the winger's bombshell interview with Henry Winter in which he confessed: "For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps."

However, he remains under contract until 2028, giving United the power over his departure.

Rashford has been left out of Ruben Amorim's last two matchday squads as the boss called upon him to prove he deserves to play for the club.

Brown previously told Football Insider that PSG have a long-held interest in the 27-year-old, but a number of clubs have been put on alert by his availability.

However, he has now insisted that the price must be one which works for all parties, and raised questions about how many clubs would be willing to spend big money on Rashford.

Brown explained that the forward could play for "almost any club" when on top form, but there are concerns about his consistency at that level.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of West Ham, Aston Villa and Tottenham, insisted that the price tag will be the main sticking point as the deal will have to work for all parties.

"Clubs in the Premier League and abroad have taken an interest," he told Football Insider.

"But the question, ultimately, will be what price you think you can get him for.

"You're probably looking at around £40million when you consider all the factors and because he's going to be pushing for a move away.

"No doubt he'll want to move to a top team, but how many of those will look at Rashford and the way he's been playing and see him as a game changer?

"At his best, he could play for probably any team, but he's very rarely at his best these days.

"So it all depends on what these clubs are willing to pay and whether that money also suits what Manchester United are looking for."
