Alan Hutton has urged Man United to "break the bank" for Victor Osimhen.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said that if United were to sign Harry Kane instead, it could open the door for Osimhen at Spurs.

The Nigeria international's current contract runs until 2025.

Napoli value the striker at around £70million afters signing him for around £62million from Lille in 2020.

But Hutton insisted the Italian giants will demand more.

"First and foremost I think Napoli paid about £62m for him, so that has gone up," he told Football Insider.

"We are talking £100m. Do Tottenham need a player like that? Possibly if Kane were to move it could be a domino effect.

"Man United are looking as well, Harry Kane is a target for them so it could be that domino effect where if one leaves for that team, maybe there is a space opening up for someone else.

"Man United need a number nine, will Man United go and break the bank for somebody like him who is an outstanding footballer?"

Osimhen has already scored 19 Serie A goals in 21 appearances as well as two goals in four Champions League appearances so far.

Kane has scored 18 Premier League goals in 26 appearances so far this season.
