Senior player axed in four changes to Rodgers 4-3-3: Celtic best possible XI v Aberdeen
GOALKEEPER AND DEFENCE
Scott Bain (Goalkeeper) – Should replace Dorus de Vries after the Dutchman’s awful performance against Zenit, a tough first match for the on-loan Dundee goalkeeper but that’s what is to be expected at Celtic
Anthony Ralston (Right-back) – Should replace senior player Mikael Lustig, who must be axed after the Swede’s dreadful display against Zenit, the 19-year-old is not long back from injury but deserves a chance to become the new right-back at the club
Kristoffer Ajer (Centre-back) – One of the few who emerge with credit from the shambles against Zenit, should be a mainstay for the rest of the season no matter who his centre-back partner is
Jack Hendry (Centre-back) – Should replace Jozo Simunovic after the Bosnian fared poorly against Zenit, recent arrival from Dundee looks like he could form a partnership with Ajer until Boyata returns from injury
Kieran Tierney (Left-back) – Another one of the few to emerge with any credit from Zenit, should return to his usual left-back role after the experiment of playing further forward didn’t really work in Russia
