Florian Wirtz wows, teammate completes every dribble and wins four duels – Liverpool’s three winners vs West Ham

Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League with three stars stepping up at the London Stadium.

Alexander Isak joined Liverpool for £125million in the summer, and finally scored his first Premier League goal for the club on the hour mark to end the Reds’ three-game losing streak in all competitions.

Cody Gakpo struck in the 93rd minute to seal the win, which will ease the mounting pressure on Arne Slot, and lifts Liverpool back into the top half of the Premier League table.

Below are Liverpool’s three winners from their much-needed victory over West Ham.

Ryan Gravenberch

Ryan Gravenberch dictated the game in the middle of the park, helping Liverpool keep possession well in the match.

The midfielder successfully completed 89% of his passes, won four of his six ground duels and successfully completed all his dribbles.

It was a controlled display by Gravenberch and provided a solid basis for Liverpool to end their losing run.

Florian Wirtz

Florian Wirtz has struggled at Liverpool, but he operated down the left flank here, and the German was an influential figure in the game.

Wirtz allowed left-back Milos Kerkez to overlap and pick up some dangerous crossing positions, which he did not take full advantage of.

The forward though did pass up a good chance in the first half, when he placed a shot straight into the gloves of Alphonse Areola.

Cody Gakpo

Arne Slot made the brave decision to drop Mo Salah to the bench against West Ham, and the Dutchman decided to utilise Gakpo on the right flank instead.

Gakpo created two big chances and looked lively, as the 26-year-old looked to create the goal Liverpool craved.

An assist arrived for the Dutchman in the second half, when he set up Alexander Isak with a clever cut-back inside the penalty area before he netted the second goal in stoppage time.
