Yes – Rangers are a massive club and have a name known across the planet, but Scottish football isn’t what it once was.
Gone are the days of attracting big name managers and big name players and Rangers and Celtic have had to cut their cloth accordingly.
Even Brendan Rodgers needed to be paid well above the going rate to be lured to Celtic and there aren’t many others who immediately spring to mind.
Of the names mentioned – like Derek McInnes and Alex McLeish – none jump out as they type of manager who can turn Rangers around.
