Shocking decision: King had three huge reasons to have kept Caixinha at Rangers

Success doesn’t happen overnight

The first three months of Caixinha’s reign can be written off.

The 46-year-old had a squad that wasn’t his – many of whom had downed tools – and staggered on until the end of the season when he could bring in his own players.

With 11 players coming in and 12 going out, there a huge turnaround of players over the summer and some, unsurprisingly, have taken their time to adjust to Scottish football.

Others have done fairly well – if nothing spectacular – but hadn’t found top form yet.

Any new manager that comes in may well want to overhaul the squad in January which means ripping it all up and starting again.

For the third time in three years.

In other Rangers news, Caixinha delivered a four-word response when asked about his job at Ibrox before Thursday’s report about his sacking.
