Former Tottenham star has already told Thomas Frank why he must sign ‘strong character’ in January
Thomas Frank must listen to a former Tottenham star if his team are to experience a better second half to the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
Frank is under serious pressure as Tottenham boss, with Robbie Keane amongst the candidates in line to take charge in North London, after yet another blow against Bournemouth on Wednesday, 7 January.
Antoine Semenyo bid farewell in style at the Vitality Stadium ahead of his impending move to Man City, with Spurs clearly lacking firepower away from home, despite hitting the back of the net twice.
Dominic Solanke remains sidelined through injury, and with Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison failing to fill his boots, the Lilywhites remain on the search for the heir to Harry Kane‘s throne.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is being targeted by Tottenham
It is now understood, as per the Daily Mail’s Simon Jones (8 January), that Spurs have considered a move for Wolves‘ Jorgen Strand Larsen, but are unsure this month due to the striker’s faltering form.
Football Insider understands that Nottingham Forest have made contact for Strand Larsen, with multiple Premier League clubs struggling in the final third, so Frank will need to move quickly if a deal is to be struck.
Although one of the division’s higher scorers, Richarlison is currently the club’s most prolific player in front of goal in the Premier League with only seven, followed by midfielder Joao Palhinha with three.
Mathys Tel and Micky van de Ven also have three goals each, summarising just how much the Lilywhites require a prolific striker, and how important it is that the right deal is reached in the January window.
Matt Doherty is a huge fan of his Wolves teammate
Speaking after the Old Gold’s defeat to Brentford, Matt Doherty, who made a total of 71 appearances for Spurs, backed his teammate despite missing a penalty in the 88th minute.
He said, “Jorgen’s a very good striker, he’s obviously suffering, probably from our lack of creativity, but we know how good he can be. We know the goals he can score, and he proved that last year.
“Missing the penalty is not the reason why we lost the game at all, so he’s not to take any blame for that, but he’s going to be fine. He’s a good character, he’s a strong character, so he’ll be able to get through this, I’m sure.”
After netting 14 times last season, Strand Larsen has been reduced to just one goal in the Premier League this term, but that is no surprise given how much Wolves are struggling across the board.
He also lost his main attacking partner, Matheus Cunha, during the summer window, and the Old Gold have failed to fill that void. In short, Frank could help him rediscover his form if Spurs make a move.
