Fosun’s delusion is embarrassing as Wolves set demands for Jorgen Strand Larsen sale
Wolves’ time in the Premier League looks set to come to an end this season after a disastrous campaign to date.
With just a measly two points after 17 matches, many fans are now looking towards the Championship, a destination that appears inevitable.
As a result, the January transfer window presents a chance to make early preparations, with Wolves expected to look at moving on some of their stars before relegation is confirmed.
One such player linked away is Jorgen Strand Larsen, with West Ham an interested party.

Wolves set to demand £40m for Jorgen Strand Larsen
After a successful 2024-25 campaign, which saw Larsen net 14 Premier League goals, the striker was in high demand in the summer.
Newcastle saw multiple bids rejected for Larsen, as Wolves managed to keep hold of their star striker.
However, since the end of the transfer window, the Norway international has been awful, netting just once from the penalty spot against Burnley.
- Larsen was one of Wolves’ best players last season when the avoided relegation
- However, the striker’s form has fallen off a cliff this campaign
- To date, he only has three goals in all competitions, two of which came against West Ham in the Carabao Cup
His collapse in form was on full show on Saturday after the striker saw a tame penalty saved against Brentford, before boos rang out at Molineux directed at the striker.
Therefore, when reports emerged that West Ham want to sign Larsen, many would have presumed that Wolves would be happy to facilitate a sale.
Yet, The Guardian on 22 December has now reported that Wolves want a whopping £40million to part with the attacker next month.
This is simply delusional, and shows how out of touch Fosun are for demanding such a high price.
No team is going to pay £40m for a striker who has not scored once from open play this Premier League season.
Instead, Wolves are now set to risk losing more money on Larsen if they cannot facilitate a sale before the end of the season.
How bad has Larsen been this season?
While many will argue that Larsen simply has not had the service this season, the striker has still not done nearly enough.
According to Fotmob on 22 December, Larsen is only completing 65.9 per cent of his passes, while failing 58.3 per cent of his dribbles.
The attacker is also only winning 41.5 per cent of his aerial duels, a pretty damning stat for a six-foot-four-inch striker.
| Jorgen Strand Larsen’s Premier League stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Goals | 0.07 |
| xG | 0.20 |
| Shots | 1.27 |
| Passing accuracy | 65.9% |
| Dribble success rate | 41.7% |
| Aerial duels won | 41.5% |
| Touches in opposition box | 3.95 |
Therefore, it seems the best course of action for both parties this January is to simply part ways.
