Four players named in likely Molineux fire sale as Wolves fans still embarrass Aston Villa
Wolves have been told they can expect transfer interest in Santiago Bueno, Joao Gomes and two others this summer, in the wake of their 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
According to highly respected sports writer Henry Winter, on Saturday, Wolves face the inevitable prospect of transfer interest arriving for Bueno at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Winter also claims that Gomes and breakthrough attacking midfielder Mateus Mane will also have their fair share of suitors in the summer.
Ladislav Krejci has already seen his £20million permanent transfer clause triggered by Wolves, having made the move to Molineux in this season’s summer window on an initial loan deal from Girona.
However, Winter also suggests that he’s not certain to remain a Wanderer beyond this season because of that, with the defender putting in some impressive showings this term.

Wolves fans goad Aston Villa with creative Molineux chant
Wolves supporters haven’t had a lot to cheer about this season, with Rob Edwards’ side remaining destined for relegation despite their victory over Aston Villa on Friday evening.
It was a Molineux night to savour for Wanderers fans, and the perhaps unforeseen three points against Unai Emery’s title-challenging side were ones they were going to make the most of.
Football fans are renowned for creating unique and hilarious chants on the terraces, and as noted by Winter on X, the Wolves faithful came up with one that’s sure to sting for Villa supporters.
“One-nil to the Championship,” sang the Wolves fans to their West Midlands rivals, accepting and owning their relegation predicament, and weaponising it to inflict mass embarrassment on Villans everywhere.
Wolves have to get Championship transfer recruitment right
With parachute payments soon to be heading their way on top of a host of potential big-money player sales, this summer is perhaps going to be one of the biggest transfer windows in recent Wolves history.
Get it right, and Wanderers, along with the backing of their ever-faithful Molineux crowd, should be a real force in the Championship next season.
However, they have struggled to replace top talent when they’ve left in recent times, which is largely why they find themselves staring at a return to second-tier football.
So, if Wanderers do indeed see a mass exodus of their best players this summer, then Molineux decision-makers must show that they are able to reinvest transfer funds pragmatically if they are to come straight back up.
