French forward visits Etihad Campus as Manchester City chiefs line up new signing

Manchester City have already shown a prospective new addition around the Etihad Campus ahead of the January transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s side are second in the Premier League table at the moment, and they are keen to add to their squad this winter in a bid to beat Arsenal to the title.

Rico Lewis could leave Manchester City in January, but they also have a strong focus on securing fresh additions to their squad when the window opens.

The Etihad Stadium outfit are already working hard to get their first winter acquisition over the line, and he has recently been on their territory ahead of a potential deal.

Man City eye Mathys Detourbet transfer

Manchester City are being linked with Tino Livramento ahead of January, but their first signing of the window could come in the form of a much more obscure name.

The Citizens are chasing a move for Troyes striker Mathys Detourbet, and have already welcomed him to their training facilities, according to Santi Aouna via his X account.

Guardiola’s side are understood to have presented a detailed career plan to the youngster, who is also being viewed as a “priority” target by Monaco.

There is also competition from AS Roma, as well as German sides, and other clubs in England.

Detourbet is just 18 years old and has been plying his trade in Ligue 2 this season with Troyes.

Who is Mathys Detourbet?

Elliot Anderson is another target for City in January, but their window may not be all about luring the big names to the Etihad.

Troyes are part of the City Group conglomerate and have been involved in several deals alongside Manchester City in recent years.

They were perhaps most notably the selling club in the deal for Savinho, and City now appear intent on raiding their sister club again to secure Detourbet’s services.

The left-winger is a France U19 international and has been part of the first-team squad with his boyhood club for the last two campaigns.

Despite only turning 18 in April, the starlet has already made 32 senior appearances for Troyes, and has two assists from 16 appearances in Ligue 2 this season.

The wideman even netted his first professional goal in the 2-0 win over UF Touraine in the French Cup at the end of November.

His name is already attracting attention within the French footballing pyramid, and now Manchester City could be about to win the race for his signature.
