Frimpong, Elanga react to Fulham star Calvin Bassey with Man United ace
Liverpool’s Jeremie Frimpong and Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga reacted to a message from Calvin Bassey after the Fulham defender was pictured with a Man United star.
The Nigerian defender joined the Cottagers from Ajax in a deal worth £19.3million [BBC Sport], replacing outgoing Whites legend Tim Ream.
And after a slow start, Bassey ramped up his performances and has become a staple of Marco Silva‘s side.
Alongside Joachim Andersen, the former Rangers defender has become comfortable stepping forward and being the first defender to challenge onrushing attackers, with the Dane playing a sweeping role.
Bassey’s natural left-footedness also perfectly complements one-time Liverpool target Antonee Robinson‘s attacking nature, with the 25-year-old often moving wide to cover for the USA international.
And with a new Premier League season closing in, the Nigerian centre-back has been working alongside a United star to get ready as Fulham look to improve on their 11th-placed finish last term.

Bassey works out alongside Man United’s Amad
Ahead of the new season, Bassey shared a plethora of photos on Instagram, including one of himself training alongside United star Amad, captioned with a relaxed emoji.
The post was liked by Newcastle transfer target Elanga and former Ajax teammate Frimpong.
Fulham yet to get summer business going
Football Insider Verdict
Fulham’s West London neighbours, Chelsea, are making signings like the future of their club depends on it, and after UEFA’s fines, they may well do.
But as of yet, there have been no incomings to Craven Cottage this summer.
Willian, Carlos Vinicius, and Tom Cairney have departed Fulham after their contracts expired, although the former Blackburn Rovers midfielder has been offered an extension.
The lack of activity is not limited to just transfers; the Whites are yet to announce new kits for the 2025/26 season, or even who they will be playing in pre-season.
For those who have followed the club for a while, slow starts to the summer are nothing new. But after coming close to qualifying for Europe last season, supporters will be hoping to see the Cottagers’ activity begin soon, or else there may be cause for concern.
