FSG are ‘finished’ at Liverpool after source’s Jurgen Klopp reveal – pundit

Frank McAvennie has insisted Jurgen Klopp has done enough to weather the current storm at Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said the owners have to give Klopp the money he needs to buy players.

The Reds were beaten 3-0 by Wolves on Saturday (4 February) and remain 10th in the Premier League with just 29 points from 20 games.

Speaking to club media (4 February), when asked if he has the ability to turn things around at the club, Klopp said he “absolutely” does.

Sources told Football Insider today (6 February), that owners Fenway Sports Group will continue to back the manager despite woeful recent results.

The Reds made just one signing in the January window, completing a deal for PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo.

Klopp’s side are also one of the frontrunners to sign teenage sensation Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

But McAvennie insisted Klopp needs more from the owners.

“There is no way he has not been banging on to the owners about getting players,” he told Football Insider.

Look at Pep [Guardiola], he has got two players for every position and that is the ideal situation for a manager.

Certain players at Liverpool get injured and they are not the same team. It should be like for like that is what Man City have got.

There is enough game time for everyone now. If they were to sack Klopp I think it would finish them as owners. It is the owners that the fans are unhappy with.

You can’t sack Klopp, I think he has done enough to weather this storm.
