‘FSG get richer as Liverpool get poorer’ – Fans explode at financial reveal

Liverpool fans are furious with Fenway Sports Group [FSG] following the release of the latest financial accounts at Anfield.

Rather unexpectedly, Arne Slot has quickly built a title-winning team following the exit of Jurgen Klopp, with the potential to also lift the Champions League and EFL Cup trophies this season.

The Reds are currently 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, yet there are concerns at Liverpool surrounding the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

All the uncertainty over the trio’s contract situations has caused a lot of frustration and chaos amongst the fanbase, which is now being reflected on social media following the release of the finances at Anfield.

Liverpool fans blown away by administrative costs reveal

Confirmed by the club [28 February], administrative costs rose by £38million to £600million during the period ending 2024, even despite commercial revenue rising by £36million.

This has raised a few eyebrows at Anfield, with fingers being pointed towards FSG’s overall running of the club since taking over in 2010.

Liverpool‘s reasons for this loss of money are related to salaries, with 11 new contracts being handed out and four first-team players being signed, and overhead costs at Anfield.

However, supporters have been left with questions that they want to be answered, with an overall loss of £57million before tax, with fingers, once again, being pointed at FSG.

FSG wanted out by frustrated Liverpool supporters

Fans have been crying out for Liverpool to splash money on the likes of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, especially if Darwin Nunez is to be replaced, but there is now serious concern about spending power in the summer.

Ibrahima Konate could seal a move away from Liverpool while Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo are often seen as deadweight, and their exits could free up more funds moving forward.

A couple of fans have accused FSG of “greasing their pockets”, suggesting the owners are getting “richer and richer” while the Reds are getting “poorer and poorer”.
