Fulham may give Richarlison perfect Tottenham escape route after what Marco Silva has been spotted doing

Fulham manager Marco Silva may have provided a look into Richarlison’s future with what he did in the 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday.

The Cottagers triumphed over their London rivals thanks to goals from Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi, despite Richarlison arriving from the bench to cut the deficit in the second half.

That was the Brazilian’s eighth league goal of a season that has continued to frown upon Spurs, who are staring the prospect of relegation in the face, as they are just four points clear of the drop zone at the moment.

The striker is into the final year of his contract with the North Londoners this summer, and he could be guided towards the exit door regardless of how the remainder of their campaign plays out.

Marco Silva will surely have on eye on move for Richarlison

Richarlison was heavily linked with a move abroad during the January window, while Crystal Palace had also shown an interest in him earlier in the season.

The frontman has often frustrated Spurs fans with his lack of consistency, and it would be a huge surprise if there is not plenty of talk surrounding a potential exit for him once again ahead of next season.

That will only intensify further if the Lilywhites are relegated, but Silva may be about to offer Richarlison an escape route regardless.

Richarlison played under the Fulham boss during their time together at Watford, when the forward flourished to help earn his move to Everton.

The pair were seen sharing an embrace and a lengthy conversation after Sunday’s game sides, according to journalist Tom Barclay via his X account, and that is perhaps a hint from Silva of what could be to come this summer.

Silva is out of contract at Craven Cottage, but it would be no surprise to see him launch a move for Richarlison if he were to extend his deal, especially with Tottenham likely to be looking to offload.

Richarlison to form part of Tottenham cut-back this summer

Tottenham’s woes on the pitch this term have left them in a perilous financial position, with several of their major sponsors potentially set to walk away at the end of the season.

That situation would worsen even further if they slipped into the Championship, and either way, it looks as though they may have to cut their costs ahead of next term.

With that in mind, Richarlison is surely a likely candidate to be sold in order to help bring cash through the door, especially considering that Dominic Solanke is now back fit again after a lengthy injury lay-off.

It remains to be seen whether Silva will be in charge at Fulham next season, but it would be no surprise to see him make an attempt to sign Richarlison in whatever job he is in next term, given the relationship that exists between them.
