Fulham ‘plotting’ January move for Tottenham player shunned by Thomas Frank

Fulham want to sign a Tottenham star who has failed to make an impact under Thomas Frank so far this season.

Fulham have struggled at the start of this campaign after a quiet summer transfer window saw them fail to add much quality to their squad.

Doubts around the manager’s future at the club have emerged in recent months after Football Insider revealed that Nottingham Forest were targeting Marco Silva to take over from Ange Postecoglou.

They currently sit 15th in the Premier League table with just three wins and 11 points from their opening 11 games of the season, and need to improve Silva’s options in the new year.

Fulham interested in Yves Bissouma amid new contract talk

Yves Bissouma has been on the fringes at Tottenham this season after a fallout with Thomas Frank over his conduct during the summer and subsequent injury concerns.

West Ham and Everton are tracking Bissouma ahead of January, but he could be set to move to Craven Cottage instead.

The Daily Mail have reported that Fulham are among the clubs monitoring his situation ahead of the new year as Tottenham plan to listen to offers for his services.

Spurs plan to extend Bissouma’s contract to stop him leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to the report, with a one-year option set to be triggered before January.

What Frank has said about Bissouma’s situation

Bissouma is yet to make a single appearance under Frank this season after he was dropped from his squad for persistent lateness ahead of the Super Cup then suffered a knee injury on international duty last month.

The Danish boss explained in August why he had been banished from his squad, saying: “Bissouma isn’t here because of disciplinary reasons. He has been late several times, the latest one too many.

“We need to give love and have demands but there have to be consequences. There’s a been a consequence, we will follow it up when we get home and park it for now.”

Bissouma saw a move to Saudi Arabia fall through in August, and Frank also went on record in September to admit that they had quashed any previous grievances, saying: “There are no hard feelings at all. Not before, not now, not at all. Train well and everyone has an opportunity.”
