Fulham star Andreas Pereira delighted by significant Paul Pogba update

Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira has taken to social media to share his strong reaction to the latest update on Paul Pogba.

It has been a long time since Pogba last set foot on a football pitch to play a competitive match of any nature.

The Frenchman has been out of action for the last 18 months while serving a ban following a positive drugs test while playing for Juventus.

Now though, Pogba has moved a step closer to a return to competitive action, something which appears to have caught the eye of one Fulham player in particular.

With Pogba’s ban having eventually been reduced from four years to 18 months, the midfielder is now eligible to play football again.

This weekend was a frustrating one for Pereira after he conceded the free kick that sparked a Brighton comeback against his Fulham side.

Despite that, the Brazil international was clearly still pleased to see this latest update on Pogba, who he previously played alongside at Man United.

Taking to Instagram, the Fulham ace shared a post from Fabrizio Romano reporting that Pogba is now available to play again to his own story.

Pereira then added a caption to that which simply read “Pogback” and was then accompanied by several emojis that further underlined his delight at the news.

Paul Pogba must find new club amid past Fulham hint

Football Insider Verdict

While Pogba is now eligible to play football again, it may still be some time before he actually does so.

After his suspension was imposed, the midfielder reached an agreement with Juventus to terminate his contract with the Italian giants by mutual consent.

As a result, he still needs to find a club to play for now he is free to return to action, and despite hints being dropped, Ruben Amorim has been told not to re-sign Pogba for Man United.

Meanwhile, Pereira has previously told Pogba to join him at Fulham, and judging by this response he has not changed his stance on that.

But given it has been so long since the Frenchman played at the top level, it could take him a while to get back up to match fitness and sharpness again.

With that in mind, any club that does move to sign him even now will be taking something of a gamble.
